Edutools

Since 2001, WCET's EduTools website has become a leading destination for educational technology decision makers. The independent reviews and side-by-side comparisons of educational technology products have been used by colleges and universities of all sizes, higher education systems and other multi-campus service providers to expedite and streamline their internal processes for the review and evaluation of products, saving them time and duplicative effort.

"EduTools is a suite of free, easy-to-use Web-based tools that allow users to collect, analyze, and weigh information about a variety of e-learning products, services, and policies. EduTools approach is to help the higher education community make well-informed decisions..."(Learning Online Info)

In 2011, WCET will launch a new EduTools 2.0 website that will integrate the comparative reviews of selected products.

EduTools 2.0 will get underway with two featured educational product categories:

  • Course/Learning Management Systems (LMS) from commercial providers and open source options.
  • Student Authentication Systems.

Campus technology decision makers will be able to hone in on a dozen or so high-level technology questions, such as technical requirements, data functionality, pricing models, and support requirements, and then choose among selected products to compare. The valuable comparative review capability of the original EduTools will be continued in EduTools 2.0 with more features anticipated.

Bookmark this page! Come back for announcements about the unveiling of EduTools 2.0! The original EduTools will remain live until the launch of EduTools 2.0.
